En ella la fotografía es estresada y cubiertas con leche simulando un error o accidente. La imagen resultante de estos procedimientos, cambia por completo el sentido de la imagen inicialmente retratada y pone de manifiesto esa extraña posibilidad de transmutar la bidimensionalidad de las imágenes al darles una nueva corporalidad y volumetría. Esta exploración por una parte tensiona el carácter fijo, rígido e inmutable de la imagen que congela el tiempo y es testimonio, a la luz de los tiempos líquidos en los que vivimos (Bauman) que se caracterizarían por ser flexibles y volubles; al mismo tiempo que rescata la cercanía con lo acuoso que tenía el trabajo fotográfico del cuarto oscuro, que hoy en día con la tecnologización y digitalización nos parecen procesos tan extraños y ajenos. Esta serie ha sido exhibida en la muestra colectiva en Galería NAC en Santiago de Chile (2021)&nbsp; y en la Feria Mira en la ciudad de Santa cruz de la Sierra Bolivia (2023) EN The series Liquid Actions I explores the photographic medium. In this series, photographs are stressed and covered with milk, simulating an error or accident. The resulting image from these procedures completely changes the meaning of the initially captured image and highlights the strange possibility of transmuting the two-dimensionality of images by giving them a new corporeality and volumetric quality. This exploration, on one hand, challenges the fixed, rigid, and immutable nature of the image that freezes time and serves as a testimony, in the light of the liquid times in which we live (Bauman), characterized by being flexible and volatile. At the same time, it recaptures the closeness to the watery nature that the photographic work in the darkroom used to have, which nowadays, with technologization and digitization, appears to us as such strange and distant processes. La serie fue exhibida en Espacio O en 2018 en conjunto con el trabajo de Bárbara Aguirre bajo el nombre “Hacer Visible”. “Dos artistas emergentes descomponen el espacio, cada una desde su especificidad, sumando capas que aluden a la escisión entre lo que vemos, y lo que proyectamos sobre aquello que observamos. El texto de la exhibición detalla: “Galería XS presenta Artefactos, una selección de fotografías de Javier Aravena, Alexis Mandujano, Sebastián Mejía, Cristóbal Palma y Carolina Spencer. En esta exposición se retrata la vida vegetal en relación a lo urbano, a lo intimo, a lo alterado y artificial. Se destaca la "planta" como idea difusa, como objeto que fluctúa constantemente entre lo natural y lo cultural. En un continuo de contextos silvestres, semi cultivados y domesticados, los sujetos responden a estados humanos intencionales. La palmera puede interrumpir el paisaje urbano, como en el trabajo de Sebastián Mejía, atravesando espacios públicos, sobrepasando paneles improvisados de un centro comercial. Pero también pueden funcionar como complemento; Cristóbal Palma adjunta la carga simbólica de un olivo a un monasterio modernista, o la resiliencia de un cactus al edificio de la Cepal. Pero la tensión entre la ciudad de Santiago y su flora asociada, también se encuentra en las narrativas históricas y privadas. Javier Aravena registra la reinstauración de la flora en los relaves de la mina La Africana, en Pudahuel luego de haber sido clausurada. En las fotografías de Carolina Spencer se reconoce un Filodendro por su forma y simetría. En un escenario intimista, al interior de consulta de atención psiquiátrica en Providencia, un Filodendro puede ser solo una planta decorativa, o una alusión a la fragilidad de la conciencia. La idea de la planta como objeto natural se puede corromper desde adentro y desde afuera. Una flor se puede observar bajo un punto de vista técnico e industrial desde la ingeniería genética, o en la fotografía de Alexis Mandujano, con herramientas visuales propias del cine y la publicidad. El proyecto surge de las restricciones impuestas por la pandemia que me llevaron a volcar la mirada hacia el único espacio verde y natural que tuve en confinamiento que era el jardín de mi casa. A través de un registro diario con la cámara de mi celular este espacio se convirtió en la prolongación de lo privado y lo doméstico, un laboratorio de exploración fotográfica y el lugar donde poder oxigenar el aislamiento y la pérdida de libertad. Estos registros junto con retratar los cambios de la naturaleza evidencian mis cambios personales y experiencias vividas. A través&nbsp;del fotomontaje digital propongo una&nbsp;reconfiguración de esta&nbsp;experiencia pandémica. Este proyecto ganó la convocatoria realizada en 2021 por el colectivo AfanChile en asociación con MAVI llamada “La imagen en la pandemia”. Los proyectos seleccionados fueron expuestos en la Plaza Mulato Gil el 29 de agosto de 2021 en celebración del Mes de la fotografía. EN The photographic series “Light and water” was created during the artwork production workshop guided by Alicia Villarreal from March 2020 to March 2021. The project emerged from the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, which led me to shift my focus towards the only green and natural space I had during confinement, which was the garden of my house. Through daily recording with the camera on my cell phone, this space became an extension of the private and domestic sphere, a laboratory for photographic exploration, and a place to breathe amidst isolation and loss of freedom. These records, along with portraying the changes in nature, reveal my personal transformations and lived experiences. Through digital photomontage, I propose a reconfiguration of this pandemic experience. This project won the call for submissions made in 2021 by the AfanChile collective in association with MAVI, titled "The Image in the Pandemic".
